Wrong.

Every time we deworm our horses a small population of worms will resist treatment and survive in the horse. By treating and moving to clean pasture we are encouraging a population of resistant worms to set up shop. Adult worms surviving in the horse continue to pass eggs to pasture giving rise to ongoing resistant larvae. Larvae are ingested and continue to infect your horse with worms that are resistant to treatment! This will eventually leave your horse wide open to worm related disease.

At Worm-Ed we provide our clients with education on how to minimise the uprise of RESISTANCE. This is achieved through a concept known as REFUGIA where all the "good" worms that are susceptible to treatment are controlled and act to balance out the genetic pool of resistant worms. This is an extremely important concept to grasp and we are happy to walk you through the steps to achieve this. Message us for a worm audit on your property.
